Milestone

Hi guys! Ever noticed those colorful stones along the side of the road with a place and a distance written on them? Those are milestones!
They don’t just tell you how far you are from your destination—the colors actually tell you what kind of road you’re driving on! Here’s what each color means…

Want to understand this in detail? I’ve explained everything thoroughly in a video on my YouTube channel. Check out the link below to watch and listen:

Use of M sand as compared to River sand

M sand

Sand is a fine aggregate which is a component or a raw material used to make concrete.

River sand

Sand are the product produced by the disintegration of rocks in very fine size.

Concrete is a composite mixture of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, water, admixture (if needed).Concrete is a material which is being used since a long time and it is the second most consumed material on the earth after water. Concrete is used in construction works like dams, road ways, embankment, buildings and many more .

And as we have discussed the concrete is the second most consumed material on the earth and its use is increasing day by day as the urbanization is increasing day by day.

So, we can say that fine aggregate or say sand that we use in making the mixture of concrete is also a important raw material. But on the other hand we have to think about our earth also who is bearing our load on it. We have to do the work which doesn’t harm the ecosystem, environment, earth….

And as we know the sand(River sand ) which we are consuming is basically produced by minning in rivers due to which many places are facing drought problems, due to excessive extraction river bed get affected, the aquatic life get disturbed and many more. As in many countries the river sand has been banned to use.

So now as the concrete use is still going on so we need all the constituent to make the mixture of concrete so now the question arises that what to use at the place of sand ( fine aggregate).

M sand has a great impact on mechanical, physical , chemical, durability properties of concrete. And it is also seen that it has more rough texture as compared to River sand and needs more water but gives good strength.

If we talk about M sand’s physical properties as per many research and studies we found that M sand’s physical properties are approximately just like River sand’ s physical properties and we can easily consume it at the place of River sand and can reduce the depletion of earth, environment at some level.

If we talk about the Mechanical properties of M sand the compressive strength, split tensile strength of concrete increases as been seen through the studies have been studied on it.

If we talk about the durability properties. Durability of concrete is the ability to resist its disintegration and decay. Or The ability of concrete to resist weathering action, chemical attack, and abrasion while maintaining its desired engineering properties is called durability of concrete. If we talk about the permeability of the concrete by using manufactured sand is 20 % less when compared to the natural river sand. And if we talk about the effects related to corrosion. The chloride ion penetration is less for the concrete with manufactured sand and it is also reduced for high grades of concrete. The permeability of the concrete with manufactured sand is 20 % less when compared to the natural river sand. The chloride ion penetration is less for the concrete with manufactured sand and it is also reduced for high grades of concrete. It is noticed that the strength losses are lesser in manufactured sand and it is least for the optimum proportion of 70 % of manufactured sand when compared to the concrete with natural river sand. The drying shrinkage strains 6%, 4% and 2%less than for 100% natural sand, 50% and 70% manufactured sand respectively, when compared to the 100% manufactured sand. Since the sand is produced using a selected quality of granite, it possesses the right physical and chemical properties for making concrete structures. Due to its unique properties, manufactured sand enables structures to withstand extreme weather conditions and prevents corrosion of reinforcement steel.

As per economic concern M sand are cheaper than River sand as M sand does not contain impurities as the river sand have, mining of river is not done.
For big projects like highways, establishing a plant leads to economy as they require large amount of fine aggregate. Since there are no impurities, there is no wastage,no depletion of environment. Moreover, the cost of transportation of M sand is 30% to 50% lower than the transportation cost required for river sand

So if we want to come to a conclusion the M sand is a very good choice or say a substitute or replacement of River sand which will largely impacts on the environment in a positive manner.

Shastrabahu

Shastrabahu means having thousand arms. Synonym of Lord Vishnu.

So here we go today i thought why not to share the history of this place as i posted a blog on this previously also….

Clicked by- Medhavi Bhatnagar

The history of this place is like this there was a king named Mahipala who got a temple constructed of lord vishnu for her wife the queen as she was a devotee of lord vishnu.

Later the king’s son the prince got married and the king Mahipala again got constructed a temple for the the prince’s wife as she was also a devotee of Lord Shiva.

As the time passed the name get misunderstood and just got famous by the name of Shastrabahu temple instead of Sas bahu temple.

So ya this is all about i hope you will like this…..and my other blogs too…

Sahastrabahu also known as Saas-Bahu Temple Udaipur

Pc – MEDHAVI BHATNAGAR

About 23 km from the city of Udaipur (Rajasthan), in Nagda village, you will find the Saas-Bahu temple which is so much attractive, creative to amaze all the passerby.

As a travellover ,as a Civil Engineer, Architectect, etc will definitely love to see this place even the surrounding is also so much mesmerizing the greenery every where ,the chirping of birds ya you can even hear the voice of bats which live inside those temples.

Curious about the background of this temple? Wanted to see more pictures?

How they got their unusual name? If yes, then stay tuned with my another blog guys

Hope you all will like it 😇.I will soon post the another blog guys😀

It is located in Japan and also known as the roller coster of Japan

It is constructed like in this way so that the large ships can easily pass through.

The bridge is built over Nakumi Lake connecting the city of Matsue, Shimane Prefecture and Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture.

I hope you all like this information 😊

Bamboo at the place of steel…

Do you even know bamboo ya you will be definately knowing about it..

Bamboos are a diverse group of evergreen perennial flowering plants in the subfamily Bambusoideae of the grass family.

But have you ever heard that it is used in construction works like flooring, roofing, rcc, scaffolding, designing, etc etc…

Bamboo reinforced concrete construction follows the same ratio, design mix , proportion, techniques as used in steel reinforcement.

Some things that makes bamboo a better choice  as compared to steel are…..

•Tensile strength is high.

•Bamboo has an impermeable protective layer on the outer side which protects it from the influence of water.

•They are also resistant towards earthquake at some level.

•And many more…..

Actually this material “Bamboo” is not a new thing in market it is used by our ancestors also. It is been in use from long time .

So here is a video in which bamboo is used at the place of steel for construction so here we go….
